Food Philosophy

C.R. Gibbs Alehouse and Restaurant was established in 1981 and built a reputation with many loyal patrons as “The Home of the Famous Shrimp Bowl”. Doing business in Redding for over twenty five years many local diners, as well as out of town guests, have enjoyed a casual moment in the “Pub” or an extraordinary dinner in the “Dining Room”. Great food and superior service have always been the fundamentals behind Gibbs success, and will continue to do so as we move forward into the future. Like the old cliché says, “change is inevitable” and in a fast moving industry like ours it becomes necessary to make those changes so that you can grow and prosper.

Facing the challenges of the new millennium C.R. Gibbs embarked on a new adventure in dining. C.R. Gibbs American Grille is a fresh approach to eating out. Simple yet creative dishes from our exhibition kitchen, complete with a brick-lined oven and custom-built rotisserie are sure to stimulate the most sophisticated palette. Our new bar with its magnificent selection of specialty drinks, martinis and a delightful outdoor patio area create an ambiance second to none. Seating close to 300 people, “The Grille” serves lunch and dinner. In addition, our private banquet area can serve up to 100 people from a specially prepared menu. With our outside catering team we are able to cater functions offsite for any number of people.

Each and every employee at C.R. Gibbs must know and understand the meaning of both quality product and superior service. Everyone has to exemplify our high standards and create the ultimate experience for all of our guests.
